Mount Vernon Campus Turf

Athletes begin to warm up about an hour before the game starts — it's a great opportunity to watch all the girls prepare for the game.

Where to Park

Visitor Lot C is closest to the field and opens 2 hours before kickoff. Overflow parking available in the West Deck — free on weekends.

Parent Tailgate Spot

Tailgate is at the top of the hill, just outside the elevators. Look for the Buff & Blue canopy. This is separate from the athletes' post-game meal — we need volunteers to provide food and help with setup and breakdown.

Getting In

Home games are free and open to the public; no ticket required. There are small bleachers on the opposite side of the field, but many families watch along the fenceline or sit in the adirondack chairs on the hill.

What to Expect

The turf sits close to the Potomac — bring a layer even on sunny days, and check the forecast the morning of. Games are rarely postponed for rain; lightning delays are announced via the Club's text/email alert list.

Important to Note

• It's a very steep hill to get out of the parking lot — be aware.
• There's an elevator in the parking garage that will take you to the top of the hill if needed.
• There are bathrooms in some of the buildings behind the tailgate spot if needed. There's also Buff & Brew for Starbucks and snacks.

Post Game Meal

Post-game meals are separate from tailgates. Tailgating is for parents, family, and friends before the game — the athletes don't participate in the tailgate. The post-game meal is for athletes, coaches, and family, and usually lasts about half an hour — a great opportunity for the athletes to refuel after a game. Post-game meals are held in one of the halls on campus, often Post Hall.
